Makeover

We bought this old dresser and gave it a little makeover.  I really enjoyed doing it and now I have this constant desire to find old things and make them cute.  If only I had more money to invest in this new found hobby.
You can't really see it in this picture but the dresser had a lot of scuffs and dents.

So we sanded it down, and primed and painted it.  Then we put this glaze on it that sticks in the corners and crevices that made it look a little vintage.  Then put contact paper inside the drawers.  I think it turned out way cute!  Now we just need a cute mirror to go with it.

We moved!!

We're in Utah!!  Yay!  Living in Draper now in a nice little townhouse, and looking to buy a house hopefully in the next year.  We're very excited about it all.  Jason is enjoying his new job working on the inmates at the prison.  He gets off work every day at 3:30, plus he comes home for lunch (since we live like 5 minutes away).  He's thinkin' he could definitely get used to it.  As is typical in all of my blogs lately, here's a bunch of pictures of the little man...
Zeke is 6 months old now.  He's so much fun!  He has such a funny little personality.  He makes us laugh all the time.
This picture is a few months old (from March).  It was Zeke's first plane ride.
We were trying to feed him some sweet potatoes in this picture but he doesn't really like anything but milk yet.  Whatever we try to feed him usually ends up all over his face and bib instead of in his belly.
He rolled over before I could put his diaper on.
Zeke loves the pool.  He really loves to splash and he splashes himself in the face a lot.
He has 2 teeth coming in!  You can kind of see them in this picture if you look closely.  The doctor discovered the first one at his 6 month check up.  He was a little more fussy than usual while these came in, but not too bad.
One cool dude!

Catching up...

So Jason's parents came to visit us in Colorado right after Irene's wedding, which was the end of March. We got a lot of videos of them with Zeke but these 2 pictures are the only ones we took of them while they were here. I think they took some pictures with their camera, though. It was fun having them here for 2 weeks, especially since they're all the way over in Korea serving a mission. We're glad Irene got married so that they would come visit. They still have another year to go and we're going to try and visit them while they have a break in October (they're serving a temple mission and the temple is closed for 2 weeks in October). It's probably going to be a mini nightmare if Zeke comes along, but I don't think I'll be ready to leave him for that long yet. And I don't know who would want to tend him for a whole week or more.
My niece, Janessa got married on April 14th.  So it was fun going out to Utah again for her wedding.  My sister emailed me the small pics and they're really blurry if I make them any bigger.  Sorry.  I made their wedding cake, plus I made them a groom's cake.  The wedding cake was 2 tiers of almond poppyseed and 2 tiers of rice krispy treats, and then the groom's cake was chocolate with chocolate dipped strawberries on top.

Congrats Janessa and Tyrel!
Zeke hangin' out with some of his cute cousins.
He was super tired by the end of the night.  He slept on my shoulder for like an hour and a half.

He loves to grab your face if you get close. Actually, he grabs anything within his reach.
And if there's nothing else to grab, then he goes for his toes.
My first Mother's Day! Jason got me the corsage to wear to church.
Zeke loves playing in his jungle jumperoo. And he loves sucking his fingers.
Matching outfits! How cute.
So we're moving to Utah this weekend and we're super excited!  Colorado is an awesome place and we've really enjoyed it here, but it will be really nice being so close to family.  And so close to the mountains, and the temple (so close to like 6 temples).

4 Months!

Zeke is 4 months old today!  I have a lot to catch up on.  We went to Utah twice since my last post.  Once for Jason's sister's wedding and once for my niece's wedding.  It was a lot of fun!  Unfortunately, I have to get some pics from my mom since we didn't bring our camera.  Here's some cute pics of Zeke, and a few from Irene's wedding in the meantime.

I just have to say that I had just gotten home from the gym when we took this picture.  Hence the red cheeks and greasy hair.  Zeke looks cute though!  We're looking into the bathroom mirror in this pic.
Just after taking a bath.  Looks like a stud in his new clothes!  This outfit is actually for a 6 to 9 month old.
Went out for a walk yesterday afternoon.  Zeke loves being outside!  It's his favorite.
Irene and Brandon got married on March 23rd.  It was a really fun weekend being in Utah for the wedding.  It was the first time a lot of people in our family had seen Zeke.

Here's the cake I made for them!  It was a pretty tasty oatmeal spice cake.

Gettin' fat!

Zeke had his 2 month check-up last week. He weighed 12 lbs. 10 oz. and is in the 75th percentile. I love his little chunkiness! Fat babies are the cutest.

Just chillin' on the couch with dad.

My mom and dad came to visit a couple weeks ago. My dad is showing him stuff.

Jason's sister, Irene and her fiance, Brandon also came to visit over President's Day weekend but we didn't take any pictures! But we're excited to be in Utah in a couple of weeks for their wedding. It will be the first time a lot of people in our families will see Zeke. I'm a little nervous about flying with an infant. We'll see how it goes! Hopefully he isn't one of those babies that cries the whole time.
