Our first family photo. Zeke's face is so funny in this picture. He's so cute, I just can't even handle it sometimes.

My sisters came for a visit last weekend. It was a lot of fun having them here. We don't get to spend enough time together. My mom was here for 4 weeks. Ever since Christmas. It was really helpful having her here and we miss her.

Just can't get enough of that milk.

So I took Zeke to the doc's yesterday for this free checkup thing they do every Wednesday and since he was born he's gained 2 lbs and 5 oz! He's now 8 lbs 11 oz. And he's only 3 weeks and 2 days old. So he's doing pretty good. Here's some more pics of the little guy, who won't be so little much longer.

Baby Zeke

Here he is! Ezekiel Jason Kim. He was born on Monday, December 26th at 6:19 in the morning. He weighed 6 pound, 6 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. He's actually shrunk in length a little bit since then on account of his enormous cone head going down in size. He was 20 inches at his 1 week checkup with the doc.
This was one of the first, if not the first picture taken of Zeke. He was so peaceful right after he was born. He didn't even cry. He just kind of let out a few moans. It was pretty funny. I think he was in a bit of shock. Being born is pretty traumatic!

This picture was taken when we first got to the hospital. I wasn't feeling too bad yet. Hence the smile on my face.
It was on Christmas day at about 4 pm that I had just smeared my dad in a game of phase 10. I sat down on the couch and suddenly felt a rush of liquid in my pants and was a little alarmed. Did I just pee my pants? No, my water broke. So I called the doctor and was told to go to the hospital. Baby Zeke arrived a grueling 14 hours later.

I was pretty undecided when I went in about whether or not to get an epidural. My sisters both got sick with an epidural and I really didn't want to be barfing while trying to give birth. I stuck it out for about 7 hours after my water broke, and then decided I would rather be puking than to feel such extraordinary pain. They gave me just enough to take the edge off, so I wasn't puking too much. But it still hurt like hell. I can't imagine what it would've felt like without the epidural.

The reason Zeke had such a cone head was because when it came time for me to push, he was coming down the birth canal face-up. It's much easier to push them out when their face-down like they're supposed to be. The doc thought he would have to turn the baby with his hands or with forceps, but little Zeke turned himself around in the end. He's pretty great and we sure love him!

Getting closer

Just one more week to go til the due date! Hopefully he decides to come on time. That would be nice. Especially since my parents are going to be in town, and my dad has to go back to work on January 8th. The doctor says if he doesn't come before the 5th, then he'll start me.
What's better than being 9 months pregnant? Being 9 months pregnant and sick! I have this nasty cold with a gut wrenching cough. It's great. I really hope the cough goes away before I go into labor.
We've got everything ready for his arrival (I hope).
My mom and dad gave us this super cute blanket with this bassinet. My parents have actually had this bassinet since I was a baby. My mom made the covering for the bassinet. Very cute.
I crocheted these snowflakes. Some to hang in the window, and some for the tree. They weren't really hard to make, just super time consuming. But I've had a lot of time on my hands lately.

Also made the little gingerbread men for the tree and some chocolates. I made chocolates last year and they were so good I think I'll be doing it every year. Way better than anything you buy. They don't look as good though.

We bought a new car! It's a 2006 Honda Element. We made it almost 4 years with just one car. We were hoping to go a little longer, but Jason is now working at a practice about 25 minutes away and he didn't want to leave me without a car at home with the baby coming and everything. It's a great car.

6 weeks to go and getting uncomfortable

The worst is right after I eat. Especially if I eat a lot, like if we go to some restaurant where the food is awesome so I just want to keep eating it. The next couple of hours after doing that are especially uncomfortable. Other than that, I 'm doing really good. I still go to the gym everyday and I'm still able to do all the usual stuff around the house. The thing I think I miss the most about my pre-preg body is running. I would kill to just go for a nice long run and to feel the burning in my legs and in my lungs. I miss that a lot.

Very knitty! With a little crochet.

I've been having a lot of fun making stuff for the little one the last couple of months. This hat and booties are newborn size.
This sweater is a 12 month size.
The truck was a little tricky, but I think it's super cute.
This was my very first sweater that I've ever knitted. Finished it about a month ago. It's about a 3 month size.
And some crocheted booties to match!
