new town, new job, new experiences

Wow, it's been a long time! And a lot has happened since I bothered to write anything on this blog. So after a year living in my parents' basement, we moved to Fort Collins, Colorado about 2 months ago. It's a really nice place about an hour north of Denver. We've got mountains, lots of lakes, 4 seasons, and there are so many nice people here. We moved into a town house that we'll be renting for a year while we try to decide if we want to stay here or not. Jason got a job with this corporate dental company (Pacific Dental) and he's working in one of their practices here in Fort Collins like 2 miles from where we live.

We're super excited about the little boy we have coming this December! He's due December 29th, to be exact. I'm hoping he comes by then so that I don't have to be pregnant any longer than necessary because pregnancy is no picnic (and I've had it pretty good compared to some others), and Jason is hoping he comes before the new year so that we can declare him on our taxes in the spring. One of the weirdest feelings ever is that of a baby moving around inside of you. He's definitely getting bigger and stronger because what used to be little flutters of movement are now like full fledged kick boxing sessions. Sometimes I feel like my entire belly moves when he kicks. It's weird. But also very cool. The strength that he displays already makes me a little nervous about the remaining 3 months of my pregnancy. I think pretty soon these kicks might start to hurt.

Since we moved, I've been trying to keep myself busy with various activities. It's a bit hard to get a job when you'll only be working for a few months. I've been doing a lot of knitting (baby stuff), and I've been doing some volunteer work at the Boys and Girls Club, and with Volunteers of America. So I'm keeping myself somewhat occupied, and I'm enjoying all the down time I have before the craziness of motherhood begins. So here's a pic of the belly. I somehow still have a pretty good inny belly button. I think it makes the belly look a little less round. I think it will probably pop out before the end though.
